Dave’s heat results on Saturday were a first and a second in Pro Stock, behind teammate Butler, and in Pro Open Dave got a win and a 3rd on Saturday, and on Sunday morning Joanis saw another checkered in his final Pro Open heat. Things were looking great going into Sunday afternoons finals. More of the same for the #73 Butler, who got 3 firsts in the Pro Stock qualifiers, and two more firsts in the Pro Open qualifiers, the only blemish was a broken shock in the 3rd qualifying heat, forcing Lee from the heat. In Sunday’s finals, the 17 year old Dave Joanis, fresh of his first Pro win in Owen Sound, made it win #2, as he led flag to flag in the Pro Stock final, bringing the red #115 home clean and tidy! Butler parlayed a very poor start in the final to a 4th place finish, battling hard all the way to earn it on the tight, hard to pass Lindsay racetrack. In the Pro Open final Joanis got tied up with another rider on the start and was forced to pull off after a broken shock would not allow him to finish. Butler’s #73 went into the first corner hot and contact forced Lee from his sled. Starting dead last, Lee consistently worked through the field in an amazing display of hard racing. Lee ran out of laps and had to settle for a 4th place finish. The team knows racing luck happens and are ready to take on the next race. Joanis knows there are more wins to come for the #115!
